Learning Objectives
- Back up BIG-IP system configuration for preservation
- Configure virtual servers, pools, monitors, profiles, and persistence objects
- Test and verify application delivery via BIG-IP using local traffic statistics
- Configure priority group activation on a load balancing pool to enable servers to activate only as needed to handle traffic
- Compare and contrast dynamic load balancing methods based on members and nodes
- Configure connection limits to set a threshold on traffic volume to specific pool members and nodes
- Differentiate persistence affinity types (cookie, SSL, SIP, universal, destination address) and describe use cases for each
- Describe the three persistence options and use cases for Match Across Services
- Configure health monitors to appropriately monitor application delivery via a BIG-IP system
- Configure different types of virtual servers to support various traffic processing types via a BIG-IP system
- Configure different types of SNAT to support traffic routing via a BIG-IP system
- Configure VLAN tagging and aggregation
- Limit administrative and application traffic via BIG-IP using packet filters, port locking, and virtual server settings
- Configure SNMP alerts and traps to support remote monitoring of the BIG-IP system
- Use an F5-provided iApp template to deploy and manage a web application service
- Use iRules and local traffic policies appropriately to customize application delivery via BIG-IP
- Configure BIG-IP to detect and mitigate common network and application layer attacks using LTM features such as SYN check, eviction policies, iRules, and local traffic policies
