Description

This training prepares for the AZ-500 exam by covering the four domains of the Azure Security Engineer: identities and access, networks, workloads and data, security operations with Defender for Cloud and Sentinel. As the exam is being retired on August 31, 2026, scheduling the exam should be planned immediately after completing the training.

Learning Objectives

  • Manage identities and access in Azure with Microsoft Entra ID, PIM, and conditional access.
  • Secure Azure networks: NSG, Azure Firewall, WAF, Private Endpoints, DDoS Protection.
  • Secure Azure compute workloads, storage, and databases.
  • Manage secrets, keys, and certificates with Azure Key Vault.
  • Configure and exploit Microsoft Defender for Cloud for posture management and workload protection.
  • Detect and respond to threats with Microsoft Sentinel: data connectors, KQL rules, playbooks.
  • Apply Azure security best practices aligned with the Microsoft Cloud Security Benchmark (MCSB).

Prerequisites

Practical experience in administering Microsoft Azure and hybrid environments.
