Description
This course provides in-depth knowledge and practical skills to administer core Windows Server workloads in hybrid environments. It includes hands-on labs, hybrid identity management, remote administration, virtual machine deployment, networking configuration, file services, and cloud integration via Azure technologies. It also prepares participants for the AZ-800 certification exam.
Objectifs pédagogiques
- Deploy and manage Azure-based and on-premises Windows Server virtual machines.
- Implement hybrid identity infrastructure with Azure AD Connect.
- Use Windows Admin Center and PowerShell for hybrid administration.
- Configure networking for Windows Server IaaS VMs.

- Administer DNS, DHCP, IP address management, and remote access.

Day 1: Identity Services & Remote Administration
- Introduction to AD DS
- Managing AD DS Domain Controllers and FSMO roles
- Configuring Group Policy Objects (GPOs)
- Installing and using Windows Admin Center (WAC)
- Remote server management and Just Enough Administration (JEA)
- Lab exercises : Deploy a new domain controller using Server Core
- Configure GPOs to manage security settings
- Administer domain infrastructure using Windows Admin Center and PowerShell

Day 2: Hybrid Identity & Virtualization
- Implementing hybrid identity with Azure AD Connect
- Integrating AD DS with Azure AD
- Configuring Azure AD DS and verifying synchronization
- Planning, deploying, and managing Windows Server IaaS VMs
- Creating and customizing ARM templates for VM deployments
- Lab exercises : Prepare on-premises AD DS and Azure AD for integration
- Install and configure Azure AD Connect
- Create ARM templates and deploy IaaS VMs with customized settings

Day 3: Networking & Core Infrastructure Services
- Implementing DNS and DHCP in hybrid environments
- Planning IP addressing and IPAM
- Deploying and configuring Azure virtual networking
- Hybrid connectivity solutions: VPN, gateways, and name resolution
- Lab exercises : Configure DNS for a hybrid domain
- Set up DHCP and IPAM in Windows Server
- Establish hybrid network routing between on-premises and Azure

Day 4: File Services & Storage in Hybrid Environment
- Implementing Azure File Sync with Cloud Tiering
- Replacing DFS with Azure File Sync
- Implementing Storage Spaces, Storage Replica, and deduplication
- Configuring Windows Server iSCSI storage
- Lab exercises : Deploy and configure Azure File Sync with replication
- Create a DFS replacement with hybrid sync model
- Enable deduplication and manage iSCSI targets
