Description
This four-day training course enables participants to deploy, configure and administer Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP), a turnkey solution built on pure upstream Kubernetes compliant with Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) standards. It is not a general Kubernetes training course: it is intended for profiles already autonomous in Kubernetes and aims at the operational administration of NKP, namely installation, lifecycle management, workspaces, clusters, access control, platform applications, monitoring, Day 2 operations and troubleshooting. At the end of the training course, participants are able to operate NKP at scale in an enterprise environment.
Objectifs pédagogiques
- At the end of the training course, participants will be able to:
- Understand what NKP is, its key concepts and terminology
- Identify the installation prerequisites (network, DNS, certificates, access to images, registry)
- Install NKP in a connected environment (non-air-gapped) and understand installation in a disconnected environment (air-gapped)
- Manage the licensing of an NKP cluster
- Carry out lifecycle management operations: infrastructure configuration, workspaces, cluster creation, attachment and scaling, projects, NKP updates
- Configure and manage access control: identity providers, groups, workspace and project roles, role binding
- Deploy and manage platform applications (monitoring, logging, security)
- Implement monitoring: metrics collection, cost monitoring, visualisation with Grafana, alert rules and notifications
- Perform Day 2 operations (backup, autoscaling, fleet management) and troubleshoot an NKP cluster
Public concerné
Kubernetes administrators
DevOps and Cloud engineers required to manage Kubernetes clusters
IT and infrastructure administrators managing Nutanix clusters in data centres
Platform administrators and engineers responsible for operating Kubernetes platforms
Prérequis
Have completed CKAD (Certified Kubernetes Application Developer) training or certification, or have equivalent knowledge and experience. Have practical experience in building and managing Kubernetes clusters (6 to 12 months recommended). Have a good command of the Linux environment and the command line. This training course is intended for an experienced technical audience and is not an introduction to Kubernetes.
